Latest Safaricom Charges When Sending Money

Safaricom charges a fee when you send money using M-PESA. The fee is Ksh. 10 for transactions below Ksh. 100, and Ksh. 4 for transactions above Ksh. 100. You can send up to three (3) free kadogo transactions (Kshs100 and below) per day. You will be charged from the 4th kadogo transaction onwards.

Here are some ways to save money on M-PESA charges:

  • Send money to a Safaricom customer during the off-peak hours (10pm to 6am).
  • Send money to a non-Safaricom customer using a Lipa Na M-PESA Paybill.
  • Top up your airtime using a Lipa Na M-PESA Paybill.
  • Buy goods and services using a Lipa Na M-PESA Paybill.
  • Withdraw money from an M-PESA agent during the off-peak hours (10pm to 6am).
  • Withdraw money from a bank.
  • Use M-PESA to bank transfer only when absolutely necessary, as this is the most expensive way to send money.
