There can be too much money?

I have seen people in my country who have so much money that they start to have a stupid behavior. A guy was walking to the beach with his helicopter; I think that this behavior is not normal. I have seen how money brings hate, fight, break ups in people lives, so I wonder there can be too much money?
If it is so, I prefer to be poor but happy with my family and have a lot of friends that love me for what I am and not for the money I have!

I think the better question is, how people choose to use their money and to what extent money can change the people.

If you aren't very real, down to earth and grounded type of person, gaining tons of money can be really bad because it can completely change who you were and how you acted. Your examples are great! Just look at other millionaires that completely waste it on random things when they could be donating to charities or people in need.

If I am ever lucky enough to become very rich, then I will do similar things as the CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg is - giving up large parts to help others out.

Regardless, I agree with you. I'd rather have just enough to get by every month but instead have my loving family and partner that are keeping me happy.

Hi Reverted, Mark Zuckerberg is a saint for giving up large parts of his fortune to help others. There are few people in the world that do charity. I hate when I see the politicians from my country that they don't care about people, they steal all they can, have fancy cars, go on exotic trips and we the rest are just living with dreams that ....."maybe one day"!
    Thank you for your answer!

I always prefer to be happy rather than a being rich. Though money is important for survival it is incapable of bringing happiness all on its own . Even the most richest live a sad and gloomy life.

For me inner contentment and satisfaction is most important. I always try to stay happy and enjoy all that I have. Desires have no end but it is we who have to draw a line. A person who fails to draw this line always remains dissatisfied with his life.

Money doesn't really bring hate, at least not in my opinion. It's really the people who own the money, they get corrupt with the cash and power. Personally, I think there is a bit more life than money but with the world we live in, we need it. I think as long as you keep level headed, you can be happy and rich. As long as you don't spend money on stupid material possessions you don't need and have self control, there really isn't any problem.

I agree that a lot of rich people aren't really happy. Also, I don't know the first poor person that's happy. It's all about balance. Rich people tend to have a lot of issues forming real connections since most people just want to get close to them because they're rich. Poor people don't have that issue, but there's always the fact that they need money to reach goals, buy things, support their family and stuff. If I had to choose, I'd be rich and help people with my money. I personally love Nicki Minaj's project, she helps college students pay off their loans and afford their education. You're low key helping a future well earned person that may do the same one day.

I completely agree with your outlook. Money is one of the basic entity for living. Lack of adequate funds is always a big mental stress.

I agree that mostly all the poor are unhappy but what is the guarantee that all rich are happy. I have seen filthy rich people who strive hard for a single peaceful day. This is what I don't want from my life. I want to sleep with a relaxed mind without any tension in the background. So for me it is always a good and content life that is important.
